Rescuing One Child at a Time

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 NIV

Nearly everyday, we are inundated with images of suffering, malnourished children living around the world. Many times, we as North Americans become desensitized to these images in the media. We do not take the time to reflect on the severity of the situation these children are facing daily. After visiting or living in a country where thousands (even millions) of children are abandoned, orphaned, mistreated and/or living in severe

poverty, you cannot continue to shut your eyes to the situation. You are compelled to find creative solutions, and play your part in shaping a better environment for the suffering children within your reach.

This is what ChildCARE Plus is all about. It began with the vision to reach children living in desperate circumstances around the world and match them with Canadian sponsors who could provide for their basic needs - food, shelter, education and medical / health care. It includes a strategy (or plan) going beyond meeting the physical needs of children, but also meeting their spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs (the whole person) by presenting the gospel and demonstrating God's love. We believe this holistic approach helps children grow into healthy adults who will then be able to contribute something back to their society or community.

Have you ever wondered if you could make a difference in a child’s life? Let’s take this little Thai Karen girl. Doesn’t she look like a bundle of joy? Her mother was one of the first children here in Thailand to be sponsored through the CCP program. Not only was she helped to receive an education but also given the opportunity to hear the good news of Christ. As a young girl she gave her heart to the true God. Now as a young mother herself, she’s bringing up her little girl in the ways of the Lord Jesus. Now, isn’t that a lasting impression?

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. Titus 3:4

Have you ever heard of Ban Mai Sawan? If you are like me, it’s hard enough trying to pronounce it. Well, it’s a small village located in the north of Thailand and its meaning is new heavenly home. That is just what happened here. The church in this small village started Abundant
Abundant Love home for children five years ago adding a new grade each year. Recently, a new high school dorm Abundant Blessing was built to house some of the CCP children living there. As the school term closed, there were 13 students that graduated. It’s exciting that, these children will move into Abundant Blessing when the next term begins. Yes, the children from very remote villages have a chance to get an education and be feed the word of God through people like you.
