BIO

It was 1998 while we were first dating that Kafi spent 8 months in Tsukuba, Japan. The next year we were married and over the next 10 years God began to prepare us for our return. Upon the completion of Kafi's PHD in Nutritional Science and the birth of our second son, God opened up the door for us to return to Japan. After teaching at public high schools in Toronto and Brampton, the door opened for me to accept a job at the Christian Academy in Japan. We felt the Lord was moving us to take a leap of faith - we took the leap. The Christian Academy in Japan was established as a place to reach primarily children of missionary children, however the demographic is quickly changing as North American missionaries leave Japan due to high costs. This has reinforced our desire to reach out cross culturally both within the school and outside the walls of the school. With this thought, Kafi has currently enrolled in full time language school while I work. Our son Asher (6) is attending Japanese school (Yochien) and our son Zuriel (age 1 1/2) is currently attending a Hoikuen (Japanese daycare). I hope to attend language school at some point in the next couple of years.

Our priority over the next couple of years is language acquisition (language school) and learning (mentorship from local pastors to prepare for next phase), relationship building (connections with our Japanese friends), and prayer (grass roots prayer movement in Japan). We are delighted to be a part of the PAOC SouthEast Asia family.

PRAY FOR US

Language Acquisition
Financial Support (the cost of living in Japan is one of the highest in the world and the Yen is one of the strongest currencies) - please pray that we would be able to raise support over a distance as we do not want to disrupt out children's Japanese schooling
Continual favour in relationships
Opportunities to challenge students at the Christian Academy in Japan.
